The technology industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. Each new day experiences new technological advancements, and the situation keeps getting better. For this reason, many of the richest people in the world are technology entrepreneurs. These billionaires have managed to earn a great deal of money from the industry and a number of them are actively involved in charity works. Some of the tech philanthropists who are highly charitable include:

They gave out $3.4 billion to charity in that year, and have donated approximately $28 billion to charity since its humble beginnings.

  1. Leonard Bosack and Sandy Lerner

The two are the co-founders of Cisco. They have not given significant sums as compared to other tech billionaires, but considering their worth, they can be viewed as among the most generous billionaires. When they quit Cisco, Bosack and Lerner were given a compensation package of $170 million. The couple gave about 70% of this money to charity. They have since separated, but they are still involved in philanthropy. Lerner regularly holds fundraisers and donates the returns to charitable organizations.
