With 84% of the organization’s earnings spent on charitable programs, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world-leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. With an A- rating on Charity Watch, this foundation has the highest percentage of contribution being used for the cause, and in 2015, received over $123 million in support from the public; an impressive number that shows just how devoted those are to finding a cure, and providing treatment for patients and their families.
As the highest rated breast cancer charity in the United States to date, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation contributes 90% of its earnings to programs and research dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer, and has since funded over 10 million hours of research since 1993. Working with researchers around the world, BCRF supports more than 250 men and women through grants to promote progress, and expand the number of potential research platforms committed to finding a cure. According to Charity Watch, the charity’s total contributions are now around $58 million.
